Throwback Thursdays #61 - Enclave

This is a great feature that Melissa at My World...in words and pictures has been doing for a while and I wanted to jump on board! There are plenty of books out there I desperately want...

But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on my shelves?

Enclave - Ann Aguirre
In Deuce’s world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years. By that point, each unnamed ‘brat’ has trained into one of three groups–Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms. Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.
As a Huntress, her purpose is clear—to brave the dangerous tunnels outside the enclave and bring back meat to feed the group while evading ferocious monsters known as Freaks. She’s worked toward this goal her whole life, and nothing’s going to stop her, not even a beautiful, brooding Hunter named Fade. When the mysterious boy becomes her partner, Deuce’s troubles are just beginning.

Having been a fan of Ann Aguirre's UF series with Corine Solomon, I really wanted to try her YA, but that old trouble of not having started it yet! With the sequel due to be released in the next month or two I need to catch up! Plus it's a post-apocalypse setting which I always enjoy!

What have I been missing out on? :)

  1. Mel I lost the hardback copy of Enclave in our house fire last year, if it tells you how much I enjoyed reading the story I now have a new Trade Paperback copy of the book to keep and am very impatiently waiting for second book in series. As a matter of fact if had to choose would read Enclave over before reading The Hunger Games again as liked Duece better than Katniss.

READ YOUR BOOK, you are going to be a new fan of the series too once you do!

  2. Hm... I liked it, but I didn't love the romance within... but I do want to know what happens next. I think you'll really like Duce.

  4. I just listened to the audiobook of this last week. I really enjoyed the narration, but I'm still torn on the actual story. It seems I'm in the minority there though.
