My Book Haul / Showcase Sunday

I've decided to join Books, Biscuits and Tea's Showcase Sunday to share my lovely book hauls each week. Have a look back at Vicki's link up to see what everyone is up too!
Book Buying Ban still going strong so only the one book that arrived this week...

Rome: The Eagle of the Twelve - M.C. Scott
Publisher: Bantam Press
Demalion of Macedon never wanted to be a legionary. An unwilling recruit, he is appalled to be posted to the infamous XIIth legion, notorious for its ill luck. Promoted slowly through the ranks, he does his best to please his superiors, and in doing so, finds that he has come to love his legion, that he will willingly give up his life -- and his chance of death -- to protect its sacred heart: the Eagle.

This is the final book I recieved as part of Transworld Historical Fiction Challenge...I didn't realise it was the third of a series until it arrived so I guess I will see if it's just as readable to a newbie!

So what did you pick up this week? :)

  4. You've just reminded me to have a look at how I'm doing with my book challenges- pretty badly I imagine! I've been reading completely different books than I thought I would when I signed up for my challenges at the start of the year.
