What Shall I Read this September? + GIVEAWAY

Last month you choose Unholy Ghosts for me to read and I now have a new Urban Fantasy series to follow - so thank you! I'm not sure how's winning from these post - me or you guys! :-)

So what is this all about? I realised the other day that I've been doing these Throwback Thursday posts inspired by Melissa at My World...in words and pictures for nearly year now - I have posted about over 60 books I own but I have hardly read any yet. So on the first Thursday of each month I will post a poll highlighting all the Throwback Thursday books I've highlighted in the last month plus one of the older Throwbacks and ask you to pick which book I should read. The most popular book after 5 days or so, will be picked up by me and actually read and (hopefully!) reviewed by the end of the month. However, in thanks I will also offer anyone who enters a copy of any book from my TBR Shelf. This way older books get a lot of love from both of us!

So to summarise -
- Pick a book you want me to read from my Throwback Thursday's posts and be in with a chance to win a book for yourself from my TBR pile for your own - check my TBR Shelf at the top for some other books that I need to get round to reading!
- I'll ship it out to from the Book Depository or fishpond so it will be open internationally.
- Leave a comment for an extra entry telling my why I should read your choice!
- Open to followers only (Sorry, but I want to reward those who stop by regularly! Also I'm not advertising or publicising this giveaway so it's just for those who read my blog regularly!)
- Poll closes midnight on Tuesday 11th September - I will try to announce the winning book and lucky follower, by next Thursday.

This month the books I need to give some serious love to are (you can go to the original posts to see what I said about them if you click on them!):

  1. You have to read Enclave. Ann Aguirre is one of my favourite writers and there's not a book by her I don't love. Enclave is just amazing.

  3. i think you should try Vengeance born beacsue first the author is really kind ( and yes it counts too) and accessible. then the serie seem really well thought and constructyed with a original universe and not perfect heros who must accept themselves and see that they are stronger than they thought

  8. Thanks for the giveaway :) I love this idea of your followers voting on the next book you read and getting rewarded if their choice wins. Whenever I'm reading a book, even one I don't want to end, I'm always looking forward to the next one.

It looks like I'm already in the minority voting for Shakespeare's Landlord. I have never read anything by Charlaine Harris and had no idea she wrote anything besides the Sookie Stackhouse series(love True Blood). This book sounds like a fun mystery and it's a plus that it's a new series. If I win, I may end up choosing this one.

  9. Enclave! I had a problem with the romance, but I really loved the adventure. I still need to read that second book.

Psst... Kelly Gay's Charlie Madigan series... Just sayin'... ;)

  14. Enclave is an awesome choice. I read this first in a series and it is a fun zombie read with a strong female lead character and the world building was pretty good. There is a lot of action and suspense and the next book, Outpost, just came out this month! I also checked out your TBR pile and I would definitely go for Dead Witch Walking from Kim Harrison (another series I love!!) Strong, kick-ass, funny female main character and awesome group of secondary characters. Their interaction and the storyline development throughout the series is stellar.

  15. This is a tough choice as I have two on here I want to see you read. But I picked Enclave. I know you love Ann as much as I do, and this is a little different, but very much Ann's style of writing. I want to see what you think of it. And Outpost is out, so time to get to Enclave. ;)

  17. My pick is Enclave. I actually just read this last month and reviewed it this past week. It wasn't a book I loved, but I did really like getting to experience things like the sun though the eyes of someone seeing it for the first time.

  18. I think I'm in minority here, Mel, but I love Shakespeare's Landlord series, so if you have a chance to start the series, - do it!

  19. I actually haven't read any of these books, but based on what I'm seeing from others, I suggest Vengeance Born. Good luck with your choice! Best to read them ALL and decide for yourself which one is the best! Thanks so much for the giveaway!
