My Book Haul/In My Mailbox

**Shameless Plug - Don't forget to check out my Sabina Kane Giveaway for a chance to win one of the books in the series - Last Chance to Enter today!**
The Story Siren hosts a weekly meme where bloggers can share what goodies they've purchased/received this week. If you get a chance head over to The Story Siren and check out what everyone is up to!

Only a couple of books this week: one of my pre-ordered books arrived this week plus my Mum lent me a book that I may pick up when I fancy a bit of a change from the usual speculative fiction reads :)

Killing Rocks (Bloodhound Files 3) - DD Barant
Publisher: St Martins Press
FBI profiler Jace Valchek's ticket home from the twisted parallel universe where she's been called to duty hinges on the capture of series killer Aristotle Stoker and an alliance with a sorcerer known as Asher. The problem: Asher has joined forces with some of the most dangerous creatures Jace has ever encountered. The solution: There is none, without Asher's help. Jace's goal seems simple enough to get her man, like always. But just hours after she arrives in Vegas, she s abducted... and she isn't even sure who the real enemy is. Now Jace has to wonder if she's the predator or the prey in a very dangerous game that could change not only her fate, but the world's... Meanwhile, a serial killer is still on the loose. And time has already run out...

I enjoyed the first two Bloodhound books - Dying Bites and Death Blows. Parallel universes are a favourite of mine along with time travel so this take on them where humans make up a mere 1% of the population dominated by weres and vamps is a pleasant change.

From Notting Hill With Love...Actually - Ali McNamara
Publisher: Sphere
She was just a girl, standing in front of a boy ...wishing he looked more like Hugh Grant. Scarlett loves the movies. But does she love sensible fiance David just as much? With a big white wedding on the horizon, Scarlett really should have decided by now ...When she has the chance to house-sit in Notting Hill - the setting of one of her favourite movies - Scarlett jumps at the chance. But living life like a movie is trickier than it seems, especially when her new neighbour Sean is so irritating. And so irritatingly handsome, too. Scarlett soon finds herself starring in a romantic comedy of her very own: but who will end up as the leading man?

I actually bought this for my Mum at Christmas and she liked it enough to hand it straight back to me when she finished reading. Occasionally it's nice to pick up some Chick-lit fun and I'm always a fan of films!

So what have you picked up this week?
