On My Wishlist #20

This is a meme from Book Chick City. There are so many books out there that I want to read that this is the only way I can keep track! So we're one week into 2011 and already my wishlist is starting to build up! This week I'm focusing on a genre I don't read too much but there are a few good books out that I'd like to give a whirl - Science Fiction!

Grimspace - Ann Aguirre
Publisher: Ace Books
Sirantha Jax is the carrier of a rare gene, which gives her the ability to jump ships through grimspace. This talent shortens her life expectancy but allows her to work as a navigator for the Corp, who can then provide Interstellar travel to the paying customer. When the ship she's navigating crashes, Jax is imprisoned and interrogated. But she has no memory of the crash. A man called March breaks into her cell and offers to help her, she accepts his offer, because she really has no place left to go. But the Corp haven't finished with her yet.

I've adored Ann Aguirre's Urban Fantasy series about Corine Solomon and I've heard good things about Sirantha Jax so sign me up for some interstellar travel! :)

Valor's Choice - Tanya Huff
Publisher: Daw Books
When humans are granted membership in the Confederation along with several other alien races, they must protect the older, more civilized members of the alliance who have long ago pursued a more peaceful course.

I adore Tanya Huff's Blood and Keeper series and I've been contemplating this series for a while.

Across The Universe - Beth Regis
Publisher: UK Puffin (March 2011)

Amy has left the life she loves for a world 300 years away Trapped in space and frozen in time, Amy is bound for a new planet. But fifty years before she’s due to arrive, she is violently woken, the victim of an attempted murder. Now Amy's lost on board and nothing makes sense - she's never felt so alone. Yet someone is waiting for her. He wants to protect her; and more if she’ll let him. But who can she trust amidst the secrets and lies? A killer is out there – and Amy has nowhere to hide . . .

Although Across the Universe isn't published for a couple of months, it's getting lots of buzz on the blogosphere and I like the premise. Always good to see a different take on the teen coming of age story! :)

So what's on your wishlist?
