Throwback Thursday #23 - Cursed

This is a great feature that Melissa at My words and pictures has been doing for a while and I wanted to jump on board! There are plenty of books out there I desperately want...

But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on my shelves?

Cursed: A Werewolf's Tale - David Wellington

Revenge in the face of bloodlust is seldom sweet...There's one sound a woman doesn't want to hear when she's lost and alone in the Arctic wilderness: a howl. For Cheyenne Clark, there's a bad moon on the rise. When a strange wolf's teeth slash her ankle to the bone, her old life ends, and she becomes the very monster that has haunted her nightmares for years. Worse, the only one who can understand what Chey has become is the man - and wolf - who's doomed her to this fate. He also wants her dead.Yet, as the line between human and beast blurs, so too does the distinction between hunter and hunted...for Chey is more than just the victim she appears to be. But once she's within killing range, she may find that - even for a werewolf - it's not always easy to go for the jugular.

I picked up Cursed about 18 months ago  curious about a book that kept the werewolf scary rather than turning them in love interests. This still looks scary and creepy to me - certainly more frightening than ,any other books I own! I think I'll keep this for when I feel like making myself jump!

Has anyone else read it?

  1. No I haven't but I also find this approach refreshing. Too often we read nowadays about scrumtious werewolves - authors tend to forget they began their careers as monsters.

  2. I enjoyed Cursed, it's in interesting take on the werewolf story. I'm keen to read the next one but haven't gotten around to buying it yet.

  3. I haven't read it, but I think I may put it on my wishlist!

  4. Normally I don't like meme's but I like this one because I think too often we forget about books that have already been released and haven't received enough love! good choice - I added it to my wishlish/watch out for as well!

  5. I have never heard of this one! And it sounds kind of scary too. Wonderful pick! Now I'm curious about it. :) Hope you get to enjoying it.
