My Book Haul/ In My Mailbox

The Story Siren hosts a weekly meme where bloggers can share what goodies they've purchased/received this week. If you get a chance head over to The Story Siren and check out what everyone is up to!
So I am officially on a book buying ban! One week done and I haven't bought anything. Yay me! But that doesn't mean that I haven't recieved any books this week!

Downpour (Greywalker 6) - Kat Richardson
Publisher: Piatkus
After being shot in the back and dying-again- Greywalker Harper Blaine's only respite from the chaos is her work. But while conducting a pre-trial investigation in the Olympic Peninsula, she sees a ghostly car accident whose victim insists that he was murdered and that the nearby community of Sunset Lakes is to blame. Harper soon learns that the icy waters of the lake hide a terrible power, and a host of hellish beings under the thrall of a sinister cabal that will use the darkest of arts to achieve their fiendish ends.

I won this a few weeks ago from Jackie at the fantastic Literary Escapism and thanks to overseas mail, it turned up this week in a beautiful hardback edition which I wasn't expecting! I read the first book in the series a couple of years ago but never continued it - but I will give this a whirl at some point.

Eternal Rider - Larissa Ione
Publisher: Piatkus
They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.
Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

I've never read any books by Larissa Ione before, but this one does look intriguing. I won this from the wonderful girls over at Book Lovers Inc as well as load of swag (gotta love it!). I love it when I get to try a new (to me) writer!

What have you picked up this week? :)

  5. @ My Keeper Shelf/Lesley - I've been very lucky in the last couple of months with winning things! But I think it helps that I'm a bit of a giveaway slut - I enter loads, but only if I'm genuinely interested in the book. :)
