This is a meme from Book Chick City. There are so many books out there that I want to read that this is the only way I can keep track! This week I'm looking to continue some fantastic series I've already started!
Better Off Undead (Bloodhound Files 4) - D.D. Barant
Publisher: St Martins Paperback
Dark magic, unknown enemies, monsters of every stripe—FBI profiler Jace Valchek has seen it all. In this bizarre parallel universe, shape-shifting werewolves and blood-thirsty vampires don’t even warrant a raised eyebrow. That is, until Jace has to face what life might look like as one of them … It starts off as just another run-of-the-mill assignment: to track down the rogue don of a mafia werewolf family before he upsets the delicate balance of the underworld. But Jace wasn’t counting on being bitten…and soon she’s fighting the growing wolf inside her with a startling antidote—vampirism. Stopping a bloody gangland war won’t be easy when Jace is feeling some new, and very inhuman, desires …
I've been loving this series which involves parrallel worlds, werewolves, vampires, golems and all sort of other fantastic supernatural beings - I want to see what Jace is going to get into next! :)
Midnight (Dark Age Dawning 2) - Ellen Connor
Publisher: Berkley Sensations
Three years of wandering the post-apocalyptic wasteland has stripped Dr. Chris Welsh of humanity and hope. He’s a dangerous man now, full of dark energy and yen for violence. A harrowing loss drove him from his home, and he hasn’t stopped moving since. Grim and sardonic, he never found anything worth sticking around for – until now. Rosa Cortez runs Valle de Bravo, a haven of civilization amid the chaos of the Change. Soldiers take their orders directly from her–the iron hand within a velvet glove. The last thing she needs is a feral loner upsetting the town’s tentative balance. However, for the good of her people, she lets the sexy doctor stay. He evokes a delicious new longing, but she won’t submit to any man. Tension rises as bloodthirsty raiders strike again and again, bent on possessing Valle and its resources. Together Chris and Rosa battle hellhounds
Okay, so officially I haven't started reading Nightfall yet, the first book in this series but Ann Aguirre is one of the authors of this series so I know I'm going to love it!
Kitty's Greatest Hits - Carrie Vaughn
Publisher: Tor Books
Kitty Norville is everybody’s favorite werewolf DJ and out-of-the-closet supernatural creature. Over the course of eight books she’s fought evil vampires, were-creatures, and some serious black magic. She’s done it all with a sharp wit and the help of a memorable cast of werewolf hunters, psychics, and if-notgood- then-neutral vampires by her side. Kitty’s Greatest Hits not only gives readers some of Kitty’s further adventures, it offers longtime fans a window into the origins of some of their favorite characters.
I love the Kitty Norville books so I want to get my hands on this anthology of short series set in that world - especially as some of the stories around some of my favourite characters!
What's on your wishlist this week?
