Throwback Thursday #34 - Heart of Stone

This is a great feature that Melissa at My World...in words and pictures has been doing for a while and I wanted to jump on board! There are plenty of books out there I desperately want...

But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on my shelves?

Heart of Stone (The Negotiator Trilogy) - C.E. Murphy
Okay, so jogging through Central Park after midnight wasn't a bright idea. But Margrit Knight never thought she'd encounter a dark new world filled with magical beings—not to mention a dying woman and a mysterious stranger with blood on his hands. Her logical, lawyer instincts told her it couldn't all be real—but she could hardly deny what she'd seen…and touched. The mystery man, Alban, was a gargoyle. One of the fabled Old Races who had hidden their existence for centuries. Now he was a murder suspect, and he needed Margrit's help to take the heat off him and find the real killer. And as the dead pile up, it's a race against the sunrise to clear Alban's name and keep them both alive...

I really enjoy reading CE Murphy's Walker Papers series but I've never tried any of her other series. I did pick this up nearly two years ago though thinking it sounded intriguing and I wanted to try something different. Alas, it has slipped through some sort of time slip in my book shelf and two years later it's still unread...has anyone else read any of this trilogy...?

  1. I loved this trilogy, Mel! Read it! ;) It's delicious. I didn't read Walker series, but I've read the first of new series Truthseeker and wasn't too keen on it.

  2. After the one book I read by her I am a little (ok a lot) wary of her books

  4. I love CE Murphy's writing style and her Walker Paper series! And I only read the first book in The Negotiator Trilogy; it was good, but the Walker Papers was way better in my opinion. I missed Jo's voice, with her snarky humor and feisty attitude.
