Anasazi Review

Anasazi (Sense of Truth 2)
-       Emma Michaels
Kindle Book
I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. Released 5th August.
One year ago, something happened to David. Following the only clue he had he headed out into the desert. Now he has asked me to come see him. But when I arrived, he was gone. The people in town claim they have never heard of him and everyone wants me to leave.
But I know he was here and he is in trouble.
He can't survive out there for long.
Can he?
David. I will find you.
After reading The Thirteenth Chime, I was curious to see where Emma Michaels would take the idea of Sense. So imagine my surprise when David’s quest of Sense takes a back seat to a search for a missing David in the desert. David’s ex, Destiny does not make an appearance with the female lead taken by an old friend of theirs, Megan who has long had a crush on the noble David. Megan is more action orientated and the perfect lead on an adventure filled search for a missing friend.
The town Megan finds herself in is suitable small town local – where anyone new is treated with suspicion. However, Megan is more than capable of looking after herself – she is one kick-butt chick and I much preferred her to Destiny in the first book. There is a nice background of local native American culture with ancient legends and myths playing an important part to the story and adds some interesting background to the search. The other characters introduced in town are fun and added some colour.
The Thirteenth Chime was a creepy, ghost story, while Anasazi is a fast moving action story. While relatively short, the pace is fast and you can barely pause for breath as the story moves between town, desert and cave. I think I prefer the straight forward action of Anasazi – especially as there are less unexplained issues.
Recommended for fans of James Rollins and  Kate Mosse. 7 out of 10.

  1. ...AND this answered my question below! LOL

This one looks like it rocks much more. I like that it had less unexplained issues. Hm... I think I may add both to the wishlist.

  3. hmmm... love the cover, but I don't know. I think the pacing would be a problem for me, but it does sound really interesting. Thanks for the back to back reviews, Mel. They helped a lot.
