On My Wishlist #50

This is a meme from Book Chick City. There are so many books out there that I want to read that this is the only way I can keep track! I'm feeling in the need for some fantasy reads...

Naamah's Blessing - Jacqueline Carey
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Returning to Terre d'Ange, Moirin finds the royal family broken. Wracked by unrelenting grief at the loss of his wife, Queen Jehanne, King Daniel is unable to rule. Prince Thierry, leading an expedition to explore the deadly jungles of Terra Nova, is halfway across the world. And three year old Desirée is a vision of her mother: tempestuous, intelligent, and fiery, but desperately lonely, and a vulnerable pawn in a game of shifting political allegiances. As tensions mount, King Daniel asks that Moirin become Desirée's oath-sworn protector. Navigating the intricate political landscape of the Court proves a difficult challenge, and when dire news arrives from overseas, the spirit of Queen Jehanne visits Moirin in a dream and bids her undertake an impossible quest.

Again I haven't read the first two books in the Naamah trilogy, but I loved the Kushiel's books by Carey so I'm looking forward to reading the whole trilogy all the way through without any pauses!

Green Rider - Kristin Britain
Publisher: UK - Gollancz
Young heroine Karigan hardly has time to regret being expelled from school (for duelling) before finding herself committed to the desperate errand of a murdered Green Rider. The Riders are an elite messenger corps using both horses and magic; the message is a terrible warning. Bad things from bad places are invading this fantasyland, their presence being only part of a devious, sorcerously-aided human struggle for the throne. Karigan's wild ride is beset with a variety of enemies, but aided by her own developing talents plus certain strange allies. These include the tormented ghost of the dead Green Rider himself--still pierced by and trying to resist the chief villain's black arrows that ensnare the soul. Delivering the message to a suspicious court is only half Karigan's job: can it be interpreted in time?

This series has been re-released recently and as well as loving the new covers, I've heard a lot of positive things about this series. Plus this sounds like a lot of fun!

The Inheritance - Robin Hobb
Publisher: UK - Harper Voyager
A collection of novellas and stories from one of the most critically acclaimed authors in the fantasy genre, Robin Hobb. Including work written under her pseudonym, Megan Lindholm.
Bingtown heiresses rub shoulders in this wonderful collection with vampires and alien musicians, tramps and feral cats.

I love Robin Hobb so a book of her short stories is right up my alley!

So what are you wishing for this week?
